Make Cash in a Property Market Crash by Mark Homer and Rob Moore
The subject matter of this book is certainly topical (October 2008) and this book is all about how to succeed in the property market at a time when others are selling.
I was initially a bit put off by the style - it is written in rather a 'bloke to bloke standing in a bar' type style, which I am not sure I care for. Points are hammered home forcefully and I suspect that were I standing in the bar, I might wince a bit. However the points made are mostly good ones and the boys seem to know what they are talking about.
The main message of the book could perhaps be summed up as 'do your homework and hold your nerve'. There is a lot of content about believing in yourself and not being afraid to go against the tide. If you want to succeed in property investment though, these are good rules to follow. It could be said that many of the points made are obvious, but perhaps they are only obvious when pointed out.
There is also quite a bit of explanation of the market and how the system works, which will also be useful, particularly for new investors. Plus guidance on how to get that deal, along with some psychology and mind games.
All in all, if you have a bit of spare cash available, and are thinking of investing in property in a time of recession, this might be a good book to read.
