Advice from Tessa Shepperson solicitor, via the Landlord-Law site

Tessa Shepperson is a qualified solicitor with many years experience in residential landlord and tenant work.

Most members of Landlord-Law do not need additional advice as they find all the answers they need from the online members information.
Click here to find out more about membership. However ‘one to one’ advice is also available as follows:

Free advice

1. The Questions and Answers page. Tessa answers 10 questions every two weeks for the Question and Answers page of the site. As there are always more than 10 questions submitted, your question may not be one of those chosen, however non members have as good a chance of being selected as members do. Click here to see the Q & A page and click here to ask a question.

2. The members discussion forum. Annual and monthly members of Landlord-Law can ask Tessa general questions on the members discussion forum. These will generally be answered within one or two days (and if Tessa is available may be answered within the hour).
Click here to go to the forum. Note however that daily members cannot use the forum, your membership must be monthly or annual.

Note however that we do not provide a general free email or telephone advice service for either members or non members. The free advice to members will only be provided via the discussion forum - this is because the answers will then be visible to and will benefit all members.

Paid for advice

3. The fixed fee advice service. Annual members can also instruct Tessa to advise via the members advice service. There is an additional fee of £95 for this. However the advice is generally provided within a few days of any documents being received. This service is suitable for confidential matters, cases which are too complex for the forum, or where Tessa will need to see documents.

If you need any other 'one to one' assistance

For example if you need to get an injunction against a disruptive tenant, have a claim at the Valuation Tribunal where you need representation, or indeed have any other legal problem where you need representation by a solicitor, you can find a local firm via our find a solicitor service which is provided in association with Contact Law

IMPORTANT NOTE - we can only give advice relating to rented property in England and Wales UK. We cannot help, for example, landlords or tenants renting property in the United States of America or Australia.

Landlords or tenants of property in Scotland and Northern Ireland can find a local solicitor via our Find a solicitor service which is provided in association with Contact Law
