Roof
This is the magazine published by housing Charity Shelter. It is extremely good.
As you would expect there is a lot of news and content regarding social housing and homelessness matters. However it also contains a lot of good content on the private rented sector, and many private landlords will find this of great interest.
For example in the January/February 2008 issue there was an article by Brooker Prize winner Ben Okri on being homeless, Ken Livingstone on Londons housing strategy, on the Green Pastures buy to let housing charity, from the Director of research at Hometract on expansion of the private rented sector, and a feature on the effect of the investment into the 2012 Olympics on housing. Housing advisors would also have been very interesed in the articles on tenant empowerment and retaliatory evictions.
The journal has some 50 pages of content, with very few advertisments, and I for one found it extremely interesting. In fact as a result of reading the review copies I have taken out a subscription! I would recommend this journal to all who work in the area of landlord and tenant/housing.
