Members advice service
The members advice service (which is *only* available to annual members of Landlord Law) covers most residential landlord and tenant matters, for both landlords and tenants, and can also include preliminary advice on problems with letting agents. However please note that the following are not covered:
- Long (ie over 21 years) leaases, which are regulated by different legislation
- Commercial premises (again these have different legislation)
- Housing rented from local authorities and residential social landlords (eg housing associations)
- Planning law matters
- Tax and other purely financial matters
- Neighbour disputes
Please also note the following:-
- We will require payment in advance of the fixed fee of £95 before any work can be carried out - this can either be paid online by credit card, or by sending us a cheque.
- When instructing us you must complete our instruction form or we will not be able to carry out the work.
- If your internet software blocks popups, you will need to enable popups on the instruction forms, as popups are used here to warn you if the form is not completed properly. Forms not completed properly will not be sent, and we will be unable to do your work
- If the matter is very complex or there is a lot of paperwork, it may not be possible to give a complete answer within the fixed fee. In this case we will give preliminary advice and a quotation for any further work necessary (if this is something we are able to deal with)
- We reserve the right to pass your instructions over to another solicitor to act as our agent if Tessa is not able to do this work herself. If this is done, we confirm that the solicitor used will be an experienced specialist property solicitor. The fixed fee will remain the same.
To instruct us, follow the appropriate link below. But you must be logged in or the links will not work! You will need your membership ID number.
Note - sometimes people experience problems with the instruction form. We apologise about this in advance if it happens to you. Generally we do recieve the form, if not we can provide you with a link to a duplicate form, which will work. Please do not panic! But do keep a copy of the information you put in the form in case you need to re-do it.
