The team is responsible for delivering the following:
a) One off advice - this is available to licensees, tenants and landlords.
b) Casework and advocacy - this service is mainly for tenants and licensees.
c) Criminal enforcement - Protection From Eviction Act 1977, Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and more.
Homelessness Officer:
All homelessness officers are based at the Housing Assessment and Advice Centre which is situated at 261 Harrow Road. Tel: 0207 641 1000

Deposit guarantee/bond:
We do offer a Rent Deposit Scheme. The Scheme is only available to those clients where we have accepted a duty to rehouse, currently residing in our B&B. Clients must not be in arrears and entitled to Housing Benefit. They have to find their own flat, negotiate with the landlord and arrange for the pre tenancy determination to be done.
* The Council will normally provide a deposit for clients to secure the accommodation at the rate of four weeks deposit and/or four weeks rent in advance.
* The rent for the property must not exceed local Housing Benefit levels.
* Deposits will be paid directly to the landlord in the form of a cheque.
* The property must be the correct size for the family composition
* The deposit and rent in advance is returnable at the end of any tenancy.
* All applications must be approved by the City Council before any documents are signed or agreements entered into with the landlord.
* Applicants will remain on the Housing register during the period of their private tenancy.

Landlord's Forum:
There is not a Landlord forum as such but there is an annual London Landords fair which is run by Westminster on behalf of a number of local authorities and other partner organisations.
